Christmas (early) in Vegas

We had a great time Dec. 13-17 in Las Vegas, NV celebrating an early Christmas with Miriam's family.  We rented a home that was large enough to accommodate all 29 of us, which was fabulous!  The cousins had a great time running around playing hide and seek and other games, and the adults had a great time visiting and playing games as well.  Here are some of the highlights:

- My mom, sisters, and I went out for breakfast one morning to Mimi's Cafe.  It was great to spend a couple of hours of uninterrupted time laughing and talking!

- The guys all got to spend the night out together as well.  Come to think of it, I'm not even sure what they did, but I know they had fun!  They also spent many nights playing games until way too early in the morning (4:00!)

- We had a great date night with all of the adults.  We all went to my parents house and played games and laughed until it was time to head back to the kids so the babysitters could get home.

- We spent a couple of hours at the Valley of Fire State Park.  This is where I learned that my kids have no fear of heights, which makes me incredibly nervous!  There were huge rock formations they climbed up and over and all around.  Kennedy went on a walk with grandpa who came back to show us pictures of Kennedy climbing up the face of a cliff.  The uncles were up on top and Kennedy wanted to join them.  My dad said Kennedy looked up and said, "I want to go up there."  She looked around to find a path and said, "I guess the only way to go is up!" and started climbing!!  YIKES!  They had a great time though.

We also had a great time with my Grandpa (my dad's dad) who joined us for the long weekend.  It was fun to talk with him and see him laugh and spend time with his great-grandchildren.  We look forward to him joining us on our next family get together!

Family pictures were also a success as the photographer was able to get all 29 people looking at the camera at the same time!  Not everyone is smiling, but at least we can see everyone's faces!
