Our kids say the funniest things

(at least we think so)!

Provident Living

Walking through Target McGuire was whining about wanting new shoes.  I told him he already had shoes and several pairs of sandals.  He said he didn't like any of them.  Out of the blue Kennedy said, "McGuire it's not always about liking it.  It's about using what you already have."

Not sure where she came up with that little tidbit, but grateful for her insight!

No sympathy

Me: Kennedy and McGuire, come cuddle with me.  I am FREEZING!

Kennedy: Uh, you should probably just get a blanket

Hearing this, Zach ran and got me a blanket and then he and McGuire came and cuddled with me. :)  I think Kennedy was still upset from the conversation on the post below.

Life is unfair

Me: Ok kids - everyone in jammies it's almost time for bed!

Kennedy: WHAT?!  I got two O's on my spelling test and I don't even get to stay up late?

(On her weekly spelling test, she receives a grade for penmanship.  One for how they write their name and another for overall penmanship.  O's are pretty hard to come by so it is always very exciting when Kennedy gets one, let alone TWO!)

Full Names

When our kids are in trouble or we need to get their attention, we use their first and middle name - Kennedy Brooke, McGuire Don, Zachary Dixon, and Chloe Jane.  The other day, Chloe picked up a piece of paper and put it in her mouth.  Zach immediately said, "Chloe Don (last name)!"  Everyone laughed and laughed.

Apparently we use McGuire's full name a little too often (more for the getting attention, not because he is always in trouble!).

Football

As we started our drive home from Utah, Rich turned on the radio to listen to the BYU - Utah game.  Kennedy quickly responded with, "Dad already watched football this trip.  Now we have to LISTEN to it too?!"

My thoughts exactly! :)
