Funny Girl!

Kennedy was pretty funny today.  Here are a few things she said that made us laugh:

McGuire got dressed all by himself today after church.  As he was pulling his pants up, Kennedy very excitedly said, "Wow, McGuire! You're a natural!"

She unwrapped a dum-dum sucker and put it in her mouth and said, "Mmmm, this is very fresh tasting!"

McGuire was goofing off and being silly.  Kennedy looked at Rich and I and said, "That kid is FUUUUUNNNY!!!!"

They can always make us laugh!

Melt my heart moment

Yesterday, McGuire informed me he was a fireman.  I said, "That is fun.  What am I?" (thinking I could get involved in his game).  His response was, "You're the best, mom!"  How sweet was that!  I love those small glimpses you get every so often when you know your kids know you love and cherish them...and they feel the same way about you!

Funny times...

I had some funny moments with the kids today....

Kennedy's response when I suggested (at 4:30 pm) she run in the house and go potty so we can go to the park: "Mom, I don't need to go.  Remember, I went potty this morning when I was still in my pajamas!"  I think I need to have her drink more during the day!

Conversation with Guire (we were on the front porch and our neighbor's dog, Sherriff had come to join us):

Mom: Hey, buddy...don't leave your cake sitting on the chair or else Sherriff will eat it.

Guire: Sherriff, don't eat my cake okay?!  Mom, Sherriff's not going to eat my cake.

Mom: I think Sherriff might not listen to you and still want to eat that cake.

Guire (Hands on his hips): Sherriff, if you eat my cake you are going to go to time out, okay!

Zachary was sitting on my lap, facing me.  We were laughing and pulling funny faces.  All of a sudden, Zach stopped, looked at me for a minute and then zeroed in on my EYELASHES!  All he wanted to do was grab my eyelashes.  I had to finally turn him around to face out because I couldn't get him to stop.  It also didn't help that I laughed at him every time he did it so he must have figured it was a fun game.

And last, but not least.  We were at the park with several other kids when Kennedy called me over to the sand volleyball court.  She was so excited to show me that she had figured out she could make "snow angels" in the sand.  Before I knew it, there were 5 little kids laying in the sand making angels.  It was one of those moments I wish I would have had my camera!

I love my kiddos!

Crackers and Cookies

So, the other day Rich had a funny conversation with McGuire about a diaper change.  Here it is:

Rich: Hey, Guire come get your bum changed

McGuire: (no response)

Rich: Hey, buddy we need to change you bum, it has a crack in it (humor passed down from father to son)

McGuire: DAD!  I no have crackers in my bum!!!!!

Okay, so maybe that is just funny to us, but we are STILL laughing about it!

Kennedy's birthday is on Tuesday (the 29th).  I was talking with her today about what kind of cake she would like when we have family over on Sunday.  She came to the conclusion she doesn't want cake, but rather cookies that everyone can decorate themselves.  When I told her cousin Aubree was coming, she said (as if to close the deal), "Oh yeah mom, Aubree would LOVE to decorate her own cookie!"  Looks like it's cookies and ice cream for us!

What's your name?

McGuire has had a couple different responses to the question of "What's your name?" First, his response was always, "me!"  Most recently, if a hanger is close by, he picks it up and says in a very gruff voice, "I'm Capn Hook!"  If there is not a hanger close by, he strikes the classic Peter Pan pose (hands on hips, feet spread apart) and replies, "I'm Guire Pan!"
