Thank goodness for prayers
Kennedy prayed tonight that she was grateful daddy didn't see any crocodiles while playing golf with his friends!

While we were in Vegas, Kennedy said a couple of funny things I thought I would share....
She came and sat on my lap one time and I said, "Kennedy, you stink. Did you just have gas?" Her response was, "No, I was sitting by daddy who had gas and he made me stink!" Later on, she called Rich into the bathroom to help her. When Rich walked in and commented on how stinky it was, she said, "I know! I am sure glad I got that out of me!"
Yesterday when I was driving Kennedy home from pre-school we had the windows in the car rolled down. She inhaled a deep breath and said very excitedly, "Mom, it smells like rain!!" I didn't realize it had rained enough in her little life here in Phoenix that she would recognize the scent of it! She was so excited (as we all are whenever there is a change of weather in Phoenix!) and even more excited when we went for a walk today and it started to drizzle a little bit. I love the simple joys the kids discover each day and how it reminds me to slow down and enjoy my kids and their discoveries and observations!
While we were at Rich's parents house one day over the Thanksgiving holiday week, Rich looked out the window and said, "Is that McGuire at the bottom of the hill?" Sure enough, McGuire had managed to leave the house. I ran out the door to scoop up our coatless, shoeless little guy. When I asked him why he left the house alone, he looked at me and then pointed to the house across the street and said, "Football, mom" in this duh tone of voice. Sure enough, there were some kids outside playing football and McGuire had managed to take notice and wanted to get a closer look. Needless to say, we took him back up the hill, found a football and Grandpa and dad went outside to play ball with McGuire.
That same house put up a blow-up Santa on their front lawn. Guire was so excited and called us all to the window to see Santa Claus. The next morning, when he looked out and saw that Santa was deflated, he called us all back to the window to see the distressing seen. Kennedy convinced him that Santa was just sleeping. Now, whenever we see a deflated Christmas character on someone's lawn or roof, the kids inform Rich and I that they are just sleeping and not to worry!
Our kids have been watching Polar Express a lot this month (that was practically the only show they wanted to watch on the drive to Utah so they watched it over and over again). It has been fun as they have really gotten into the whole idea of Christmas. One time while watching it McGuire said, "Mommy, I LOOOOOVE Santa Claus!"
We have also told the kids we are going to ride on the Polar Express (a train in Northern AZ turns into the Polar Express for the holidays and you get to ride it, enjoy hot chocolate, meet Santa Claus, and receive a gift). Kennedy will say at different points in the movie, "Let's NOT do that on our ride on the Polar Express, okay?"
